Overview of the Michigan School Improvement Framework

In December 2005, the Michigan State Board of Education formally approved the Michigan School Improvement Framework to provide a cohesive foundation to develop, review, or revise school improvement plans.

Schools and districts can use the Framework as a blueprint to establish goals and objectives that will guide teaching and learning, resource allocation, staff development, data management, and assessment.

Ingham ISD has intentionally aligned all professional development opportunities for 2009-10 with the five strands of the Framework (see the designation listed “msif strand” associated with each offering description).  This system will also assist you in the allocation of professional development funds to aligned areas of need, and will be useful when reporting on progress related to implementation of your plan.
