Engagement through Inquiry
Students who will thrive in this Conceptual Age will use an inquiry approach to learning, and teachers need to know what this means. Inquiry includes engaging students in descriptions of phenomena, stimulating interest and curiosity, conducting investigations, making predictions, developing hypotheses. It also involves using questioning strategies and reflection techniques to acquire conceptual understanding of the world beyond the classroom. Ingham ISD provides professional development opportunities in all content areas that serve to promote the use of inquiry.
