The goal of this training is to build an understanding of dyslexia and help educators recognize that dyslexia is not simply a problem with reversing letters, seeing words incorrectly, or lacking effort. Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability that primarily affects the development of accurate and fluent word recognition, spelling, and decoding. It can occur across all levels of intelligence. Participants will be better prepared to recognize possible signs of dyslexia, participate meaningfully in problem-solving and evaluation discussions, monitor whether interventions are working, and advocate for students’ academic access, confidence, and long-term success.
