This two-day, in-person learning event features Dr. Patricia Edwards, Annie Spear, MEd, MAT, and leaders from Ingham ISD and the MiFamily Engagement Center to provide family-facing professionals with actionable, research-based strategies for supporting families with their children’s literacy development. Centered on the General Education Leadership Network’s "Essential 10" for Birth to Grade 5, the workshop bridges the gap between research and practice by offering a dedicated venue for educators and administrators to synthesize systems that strengthen school-family relationships. Participants will gain practical, family-friendly tools to support key literacy areas such as oral language, vocabulary, and alphabet knowledge while building a shared framework for sustainable, ongoing family engagement.
